SM Prime Holdings President Hans T. Sy has assured Davaoenos in positioning its malls to be real responsible developers.

“We want to be known as responsible developers. We can’t say we are perfect, but if there are problems, I assure you, we will find solution,” Sy said.

In the first quarter of 2013, SM Prime Holdings will open the Science Discovery Center inside the newly opened SM Lanang Premier and the Park Inn hotel by Radisson Davao connected to the mall.

Speaking to reporters recently here, SM Prime Holdings President Hans T. Sy said the Science Discovery Center will be similar to that of the Mall of Asia (MOA), also an SM premier mall.

He said he believes that malls should not only offer entertainment but also education particularly to the children.

Similar to the MOA, the center will provide interactive learning tools visually enticing to the children including their parents, Sy said.

“I believe in education, and this is one of our priorities,” Sy said.

As part of its responsible development thrust, SM Prime also see to it that all its 46 malls use recycled water with the use of huge sewage system in rest rooms for instance and cooling facilities.

The Park Inn hotel by Radison, connected to SM Lanang Premier will also be opened sometime first quarter of 2013 to serve the accommodation needs of event organizers and attendees, Sy said.

The Park Inn is a 200-room hotel will be the third hotel of SM Hotels and Conventions in the country. It is connected to the mall through a bridge way for easy access.

Edgy, hip and trendy with vibrant colors, the hotel will be equipped with amenities including an all-day dining restaurant, meeting rooms, an outdoor swimming pool and a gym.
