Actor Cogie Domingo is now a father.

Domingo on Saturday revealed that he recently welcomed his baby girl, Raina. According to the heartthrob actor, his daughter was born during the height of the recent monsoon rains, hence the name.

“Raina [ang pangalan niya] kasi ipinanganak po siya [habang] umuulan,” Domingo told showbiz-oriented talk show “Ang Latest.”

“Mixed emotions,” he said of welcoming Baby Raina. “Natutuwa talaga ako, kamukha ko naman daw po.”

Quizzed on whether his baby girl also looks like her mother, Domingo opted to keep private the identity of his partner, who is also his childhood sweetheart.

“Huwag na lang po muna, medyo private muna siya at nahihiya siya,” he said.

After a prolonged absence from show business, Domingo returned to television via a lead role in an episode of ABS-CBN’s drama anthology “Maalaala Mo Kaya” in 2010, and an appearance in the afternoon series “Angelito: Batang Ama” in 2012.

Now that he has a new role as Raina’s father, Domingo acknowledged the life turn-around that comes with becoming a parent.

“Naku, marami po. Ang para sa akin po lahat na lang ibibigay ko para mabigay ko ‘yung magandang kinabukasan para sa bata,” he said.
