Actor Jake Cuenca on Thursday refused to confirm or deny that he is courting actress Lovi Poe.

“When it comes to dating my personal life, kilala niyo ako kapag handa na ako, there’s no feeling better than to be free, ‘yung wala kang tinatago. But then that comes at the right time and right place. Kapag handa na ako I will talk about it pero sa ngayon balato niyo muna ito sa akin,” Cuenca told abs-cbnNEWS.com after the press conference of his newest series “Kahit Puso’y Masugatan,” which will start airing this Monday, July 9.

Asked if he’s just keeping quiet on the real status of his relationship with Poe because of the alleged “death threat” he received from the actress’ former boyfriend, Cuenca replied: “Ah, hindi. For me, like I said, when I’m ready, willing and able, I will. Pero again kami ni Lovi, we are very good friends.”

Cuenca reiterated he never received a “bullet” from Poe’s former boyfriend, former Ilocos congressman Ronald Singson.

“I always said it wasn’t true, not true. Of course, nabaril ang kotse ko dati pero hindi ko alam kung sino ang gumawa noon. Pero ‘yung ‘bala bala’ not true. Kung ganoon malalaman n’yo siguro,” he said.

Cuenca said he already learned his lesson not to rush things when it comes to love.

“Ang dami ko nang natutunan sa pinagdaanan ko na relationship. One thing I’ve learned kapag handa ka na, saka mo panindigan. Huwag ‘yung magpapadala ka dahil sa nagpadala ka sa tao. This is a type of thing na kapag handa na ako, I will talk about it. Kapag dumating ang araw na iko-commit ko ang sarili ko, huwag kayong magaalala at handa na talaga ako,” he said.
