Sen. Lito Lapid had to apologize for feeling “uneasy” during the ABS-CBN trade event held Wednesday night, where his TV comeback project was launched before advertisers.

“Nanlalamig ako eh, kasi first time ko mag-teleserye, first time ko mag-TV. Ang tagal ko nang artista pero first time ko gagawin ‘to,” Lapid told ABS-CBN news at the sidelines of the Kapamilya network’s trade event tiled “A Beautiful Affair.”

“Pasensya na ah, dahil hindi ako masyadong komportable,” he added, before excusing himself from interviews with reporters.

Having earned his breakthrough role as the horse-riding Leon Guerrero in the ’70s, the actor-turned-politician is set to topbill the upcoming fantasy series titled “Little Champ.”

“Excited ako, ang sarap ng feeling, naging bata ulit ako,” he said of his comeback showbiz project.

For his return to acting, Lapid will be “paired” with a “superhero” horse, a principal character in the series. In early September, a teaser trailer for “Little Champ” (above) was released, showcasing the talking white horse.

“Nagsasalita ‘yung kabayo, nag-uusap kaming dalawa. Nagkakaintindihan kami, kasi pag nakalunon ng bato ‘yung kabayo — kasi patpatin siya’t payat — lalaki siya na para talagang superhero siya,” Lapid said in an earlier interview with ABS-CBN News.

“‘Yun talaga ang aabangan, at ang pagligtas sa naaapi at mga taong nangangailangan ng tulong,” he added.

Also starring Mickey Ferriols, Jake Roxas, Coleen Garcia, Lara Quigaman and Renz Fernandez, “Little Champ” is expected to air on ABS-CBN later this year.
