Talent manager and entertainment writer Ogie Diaz on Sunday took a swipe at Sarah Geronimo’s mother Divine after it was reported that she told actor Gerald Anderson to stop wooing her daughter.

While Geronimo’s variety show “Sarah G Live” was on air, Diaz posted a series of messages in the microblogging site Twitter commenting on the supposed falling out of Geronimo and Anderson.

“Gustong bigyan ng magandang kinabukasan ang anak, sabi ng ina. Ako din, ‘yun ang sasabihin ko sa mga anak ko dahil ako ang nagtatrabaho,” he said.

“Nagpapakatao namang umaakyat ng ligaw sa bahay pero iniirapan daw kc. Sino ba naman ang magiging kumportable sa panliligaw?” Diaz added.

Furthermore, Diaz said: “Ndi daw hahayaan ng ina na masaktan ng kahit sino ang anak. Pero ndi na-realize ng madir, siya ang unang-unang nanakit ng kalooban ng anak.”

On Sunday, Geronimo’s mother, called Mommy Divine in showbiz circles, revealed on “Sarah G Live” that she personally talked to Anderson and told him that if he wants to court her daughter, it should only be done inside their house.

“Sabi ko sa bahay lang pwede ligawan ang anak ko, hindi sa labas at hindi sa text. Then sabi ko kung mapagpapasensiyahan mo ang patakaran namin ganito kami, nire-respeto namin kayo, respetuhin niyo din kami. Kasi babae ‘yung anak ko but ewan ko kung dapat sabihin pero hindi yata ano, pero kung hindi mapagtiyagaan ‘yung ganoon, wala kaming [ magagawa],” Divine said.

Geronimo, however, came to the defense of her mom and clarified the speculations.

“Sa totoo lang po hindi mommy ko ang nagpatigil kay Gerald na manligaw talaga. So, wala, hindi si mommy,” Geronimo said.

Mommy Divine told her daughter that God will eventually give her the right man.

“Oo nga, di naman ako nagmamadali, muntik lang…,” the singer said, after which she cried.

Just last week, Anderson declared that Geronimo has all the qualities he’s looking for in a girlfriend. He also admitted that he has been courting the singer-actress for six months already.
