Actor Richard Gomez said he respects the decision of his former girlfriend Dawn Zulueta not to have a kissing scene with him in ABS-CBN’s hit series “Walang Hanggan.”

In an interview on “The Buzz” on Sunday, Gomez said viewers should understand that Zulueta is now married with kids.

“You have to respect Dawn’s situation, siyempre babae siya. May asawa na siya, pareho ang status namin ni Dawn, ni Lucy at Anton, kaya she opted not to do that, yet,” said Gomez, who is married to Ormoc Rep. Lucy Torres.

In a previous interview, Zulueta stressed that it was her decision not to do kissing scenes with Gomez — and not her husband Davao del Norte Rep. Anton Lagdameo Jr.

Marco and Emily, the characters of Gomez and Zulueta in the hit primetime series “Walang Hanggan,” will be getting married this week on the ABS-CBN drama.

“Tuwing mayroon kaming pina-plano ni Emily, lagi kaming hinahadlangan ni Margaret at Johanna so para magulat na lang ‘yung family members namin ginawa namin tahimik na lang, paplanuhin namin ito then on the day of the wedding iimbitahan namin sila,” Gomez said of the TV wedding.

Gomez also reiterated his happiness to be part of “Walang Hanggan.”

“We have a wonderful show, a wonderful cast. We have Coco Martin , Julia Montes, Tita Susan Roces, Tita Helen Gamboa, Dawn. It’s a wonderful combination. Kahit saan mo tignan ang anggulo ng ‘Walang Hanggan’ laging may magandang istorya at nagagampanan ng mabuti. I think that’s the magic of ‘Walang Hanggan’ — not just the cast but also the story. Ang heart talaga ng drama ay ‘yung conflicts so kahit saan mo dalhin ay umaangat,” he explained.
