Actor Robin Padilla is the leading man in ABS-CBN’s newest series “Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw,” which stars Anne Curtis and Queen of All Media Kris Aquino.

Also joining the cast is ABS-CBN child star Xyriel Manabat, who wowed viewers in the highly rated “100 Days to Heaven.”

Based on information obtained by abs-cbnnews.com, the lead stars will have a story meeting on Thursday.

An excited Aquino hinted on “The Buzz” in December that her new soap would star an actor with the initials “RP” but said she couldn’t identify the actor as yet.

Padilla and Aquino last worked together in the noontime show, “Pilipinas Win na Win.”

In a previous interview, Aquino also shared her excitement about working with Curtis.

“Anne Curtis and I will definitely do our teleserye in 2012. I’m so excited about that,” she said.

Aquino added that part of her preparation for the series is to be fit and healthy.

As a bit of trivia: Padilla already did a movie entitled “Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw.” In the movie, which was released in 2000, Padilla played a car mechanic who falls in love with a popular singer played by Regine Velasquez.
