Former Ilocos Sur Rep. Ronald Singson would like to venture into producing films, according to his friend and business partner, actor Jomari Yllana.

Singson returned to the Philippines last week after his release from confinement in a Hong Kong jail where he served sentence for illegal drug possession.

“I saw him noong dumating siya, parang may press conference siya noon. Sa narinig ko ay gusto pa rin niya, gusto niyang mag-produce ng pelikula,” Yllana said after a press conference for ABS-CBN’s upcoming series “E-Boy,” where he is part of the cast.

“Ang importante sa ngayon ay nasa mabuti siyang kalagayan. At kung gusto niyang mag-produce ay madali lang ‘yon, kahit ano naman ay pwede naming gawin. Ang importante lang ay together at ang importante ay nakabalik na siya at maging maayos ang lahat lalo na siya,” he said when asked if he is still willing to work with Singson.

Yllana said he is just happy now that Singson is back in the country with his family.

“He’s back sa pamilya niya, he’s back home and I am very happy for him. Ang importante lang ay nasa maayos siyang kalagayan,” she said.

Yllana, who took a break from producing foreign and local concerts, said he would like to work with Singson again.

“Nag-stop siya last year, hanggang ngayon. Sa akin, ayaw kong mag-produce, ayaw kong magtrabaho as producer kung hindi ko siya kasama. ‘Yung production namin ay trabaho lang ‘yon. Sa akin mas importante ang friendship,” he said.

Yllana and Singson head Fearless Productions, which has brought some of the biggest international artists to the Philippines.

Among them are “American Idol” stars David Cook, David Archuleta and Kris Allen, acoustic singer Marie Digby, R&B superstar Usher and musician John Mayer.
