An earthquake measuring 5.8 jolted near the east coast of Honshu, Japan at 1032 GMT Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 48.10 km, was initially determined to be at 38.3057 degrees north latitude and 141.7328 degrees east longitude.
