An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter Scale jolted Java island of Indonesia Wednesday, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency reported here.
The quake struck at 17 : 59 p.m. (Jakarta time 1059 GMT) with epicenter at 424 km southwest Bantul of Yogyakarta and with the depth at 29 km, the agency said.
Indonesia sits on a vulnerable quake-hit zone where is so called “the Pacific Ring of Fire”.
