South Korea will soon send a package of humanitarian aid for the victims in northwestern Iran, which was ravaged by two powerful earthquakes earlier this month, officials said Friday.
Seoul will hold consultations with Iran’s Red Crescent Society about how to deliver relief goods worth 200,000 US dollars to the affected areas, the foreign ministry said in a statement.
More than 300 people were killed and 5,000 injured in the quakes that hit northwestern Iran on Aug. 11, according to the statement.
