Decatur Boulevard will be closed between U.S. 95 and Bonanza Road Sunday and Monday nights, Las Vegas officials said.
The road will be closed in both directions from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. both nights while crews prepare and begin painting a new pedestrian bridge at Decatur near U.S. 95.
Access to and from U.S. 95 from Decatur south of the freeway will not be interrupted, officials said. Motorists exiting the freeway will not be allowed to turn north, however.
The bridge is part of the $4.9 million Bonanza Trail Phase II improvement project. The project began Nov. 1, 2010, and is scheduled to end in July.
The project will complete the trail from Durango Drive to downtown, including a pedestrian undercrossing at Rainbow Boulevard. It also will add a new bus turnout at the northwest corner of Westcliff Drive and Rainbow and will add signs and bike lanes in the area.
The project is funded with money from the Bureau of Land Management through the Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act.
The contractor is Wells Cargo. CH2M Hill and the city are managing the project, and Kimley-Horn is the design consultant.
