The Caloocan local government has completed 63 projects for the improvement of the educational system in the city, mostly new schoolbuildings and other infrastructures.
Citing records from the City Engineering Office, Mayor Enrico Echiverri said the various school projects were undertaken from 2005 up to the present.
The projects completed in 2005 included the two-storey, eight-classroom building at the Kasarinlan High School; two-storey, eight-classroom building at the Maypajo High School; three-storey, 12-classroom building at Camarin High School; two-storey, nine-classroom building at Kalayaan High School.
In 2006, Echiverri said that among the completed projects were the three-storey, six-classroom building at Bagong Barrio Elementary School; two-storey, eight-classroom building at Urduja Elementary School; three-storey, seven-classroom building at Sampaguita High School; three-storey, six-classroom building at Bagong Silang Elementary School; six-storey, three-classroom building at Sto. Niño Elementary School; three-storey, six-classroom building at Cielito Zamora Elementary School; three-storey, six-classroom building at Caloocan North Elementary School; two-storey, eight-classroom building at Horacio Dela Costa High School; and three-storey, six-classroom building at Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School.
Among the newly-constructed school buildings in 2007 were the two-storey, four-classroom building at East Bagong Barrio Elementary School; three-storey, six-classroom building at Bagumbong Elementary School; two-storey, eight- classroom building at Bagumbong High School; two-storey, eight-classroom building at Urduja High School; three- storey, six-classroom building at Camarin Elementary School; two-storey, eight-classroom building at Star Elementary School; three-storey, 11-classroom building at Manuel L. Quezon Annex, Malaria; and two-storey, six- classroom building at Tala High School.
Constructed in 2008 were two-storey, eight-classroom building at Kasarinlan High School; three-storey, six- classroom building at Bagong Barrio High School; three-storey, six-classroom building at Baesa High School; three-storey, storey-six classroom building at Deparo High School; three-storey, six-classroom building at Deparo Elementary School; three-storey, six-classroom building at Camarin D Elementary School; three-storey, six-classroom building at Pag-Asa Elementary School, and three-storey, six-classroom building at Cielito Zamora High School Annex.
In 2009, the school projects include the two-storey, eight-classroom building at Bagumbong Elementary School.
Completed in 2010 were the three-storey, 12-classroom building at University of Caloocan City, Camarin; four-storey Kaybiga High School; 3rd and 4th floors at Bagumbong Elementary School Annex; 3rd and 4th floors at Bagumbong High School Annex; 3rd and 4th floors at Urduja Business High School; two-storey, six-classroom building at Urduja High School; three-storey, six-classroom building at Kalayaan Elementary School, and 3rd and 4th floors at Amparo High School Annex.
In 2011, among the schools projects were the three-storey, six-classroom building at Maria Clara High School; three-storey, six-classroom building at Star Elementary School, Unit 1.
The projects undertaken so far this year included the building of the third floor at the Gomburza Elementary School which was recently affected by fire.
