Malacañang alerted on Sunday all government agencies to review and improve the security of their websites.

Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio “Sonny” Coloma said in a statement that the website of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) was reportedly hacked on Sunday afternoon.

In view of this, Secretary Coloma advised all government agencies to guard and review the security of their websites.

According to Coloma, the website of President Benigno S. Aquino III, www.president.gov.ph, remains secure.

“We are adopting best practices to lessen the vulnerability of our websites to hacking and other cyber crimes,” Coloma added.
