PNB prexy files for indefinite sick leave

The Philippine National Bank (PNB) Board of Directors has designated Omar Byron T. Mier as acting President of the bank after its president Carlos Pedrosa filed for indefinite sick leave.

The bank, in a disclosure with the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), said the decision was made during the special Board Meeting Tuesday.

Pedrosa was appointed to the position in in July 2011 after Eugene Acevedo resigned from his post. Among his previous position are director of United Coconut Planters Bank (UCPB) from 2004-06 and Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company (Metrobank) from 2008-09.

Relatively, Mier was PNB’s president, chief executive officer (CEO), and chief credit officer until May 24, 2010.
