The Quezon City Police (QCPD) said Saturday it arrested a suspected illegal recruiter who made false promises to four individuals to work in Qatar.

QCPD-Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU) Chief Insp. Rodelio Marcelo identified the suspect as Crisilyn Batican, 31, a nurse. Her alleged cohort, Evelyn Licop, remains at large.

Marcelo said Batican was already subjected to inquest proceedings before the City Prosecutor’s Office on charges of illegal recruitment under Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act.

Four victims surfaced to file complaints against the two suspects. They are Salvacion Crispo, 28, of Baclaran, Parañaque City, and Arlyn Fedelicio, Francisco Diamante, and Maria Cristina Eslera, all of Bagong Nayon, Bagbagin, Valenzuela City.

They said they paid the suspects P35,000 to P40,000 after they were promised jobs in Qatar.
