The distribution of Philippine Health Insurance (PhilHealth) cards to poorest of the poor in the province benefited at least 1,800 resident-beneficiaries in Masantol town.

Governor Lilia Pineda told the beneficiaries that PhilHealth cards came from the national government using the National Household Targeting System (NHTS).

Pineda asked the residents to keep the cards as the same were guarantee for their medical expenses in all government and district hospitals in the province.

On the part of the provincial government, family health cards were also being given to the Kapampangans as part of their continuing efforts to provide quality health programs.

The distribution of PhilHealth Insurance and Family Health cards is designed to address the health and hospitalization needs of the province’s indigents who cannot afford the high cost of hospitalization.

With their PhilHealth cards, even poor families can now avail of quality health care and medical treatment in any government and district hospitals, the governor added.
