The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has intensified its campaign against illegal drugs in accordance with the directive of President Benigno C. Aquino III.
PDEA Regional Director Paul Ledesma, in an interview, said that because of their intensified campaign from January to September this year, they have already conducted a total of 165 operations and arrested a total of 236 persons involved in illegal drugs in Western Visayas.
He further said that the PDEA regional office is now also in the process of hiring around 1,000 drug agents who could help in their anti-illegal drug enforcement.
Ledesma said that interested applicants should now have to contact their office.
Qualifications of applicants to become PDEA agents are: 21-35 years old, degree holder, passed the Civil Service Professional Examination (Second Level Eligibility) or holder of the Professional Regulation Commission license, 5’2″ in height for female and 5’4″ in height for male, good moral background, physically fit, and computer literate.
The applicants who would qualify and be hired will be assigned in the six provinces in Western Visayas particularly its critical entry points which are the seaports, airports and shorelines.
