PEACE 21st annual confab up on Sept. 17-18 in Davao City

<span style=”color: #ff0000;”><strong>By US News Agency / Asian</strong></span><p>The Philippine Educators Association for Criminology Education (PEACE), Inc. will hold its 21st  Annual Convention on Sept. 17 and 18, 2010 at the Grand Men Seng Hotel Ball Room, Anda-Magallanes Streets, San Pedro, Davao City with the theme: “The Criminology Education Program, Its Role on the Philippine Criminal Justice System.”

Davao City Mayor Sarah Duterte will welcome PEACE delegates coming from different regions of the country. Commission on Higher Education Chair Patricia B. Licuanan will deliver the keynote address in the plenary session.

Other notable speakers include lawyer Berteni Causing, lead convenor of the Peoples Initiative on the Grand and Trial Jury Systems in the Philippines; Dr. Manuel Jaudian,  president of Professional Criminologists Association of the Philippines, revisits CHED Memorandum Circular No. 21, Series of 2005; lawyer Antonio A. Arellano, Region XI State prosecutor, will speak on Law Subject’s Relevancy in Criminology Education for Law Enforcement Profession; lawyer Ernesto V. Cabrera, Board of Criminology Member, on the Efficacy of the 2009 PRC Criminology Program Syllabi on the Licensure Examination for Criminology Education; and Dr. Ruben Sta. Teresa, executive vice president on the Employability of Criminology Graduates other than in the Uniformed Service.

Former Asia Pacific FBI Chief Stephen Cutler will talk on the Vulnerability of University/School Campuses in Southern Philippines to Terrorism, and Dr. Mercedes Foironda, president of the Federation of Accredited Criminology Authors, will discuss the role of FACCI in Criminology/Criminal Justice Bookmaking/Authoring.

PEACE President Emeritus, retired police General Enrique C. Cuadra, PhD, is inviting all professional criminologists from the law enforcement, academe and private sectors to attend the convention.

PEACE president Yakal M. Giron said that the CHED issued a Memorandum on July 12, 2010 to favorably endorse  participation and attendance by all CHED central and regional directors/presidents/heads of higher education institutions offering Criminal Justice/Criminology Education in the PEACE 21st Annual Convention.
