A set of core projects costing a total P55.98 million has been lined up for the second district of Bohol province through the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of Rep. Erico Aumentado.
The budget has been charged to the Aumentado’s 2011 pork barrel on first and second tranches, the bulk of which was released only last December.
The core projects include municipal and barangay waterworks systems, school buildings, scholarships for poor but deserving students, electrification, botica ng barangay (BnB), sports development, tractors for hybrid corn production and assistance to local government units (LGUs) for social services especially for indigent patients and construction of Barangay multi-purpose centers.
Aumentado put up P5.5 million in assistance for the waterworks systems of Dagohoy, San Miguel, Ubay, President Garcia, Bien Unido, Getafe, Buenavista, Inabanga, San Isidro, Talibon and Trinidad under the President Aquino’s Water for Waterless Municipalities program at P500,000 each. The LGUs concerned will share P500,000 each as counterpart to the national government’s P9 million subsidy.
He also allocated another P3 million for 10 barangay waterworks systems programmed by the Bohol 2nd Engineering District in various towns.
For school buildings, the solon allocated P12.55 million as counterpart to the Department of Education’s (DepEd)
P11 million for a total of P23.55 million to build 21 two-classroom school buildings and a home economics (HE) building. These are for the Nocnocan Elementary School (E/S), Ubay National Science HS, Gaus HS, Basiao HS, Bonbonon HS, San Jose Elementary School (ES), Hagbuyo ES, Caluasan ES, Tubog Integrated School (IS), Cuaming HS, Bugang HS, Campamanog HS, Dagnawan IS, Tapon ES, Cagting HS, Bulilis HS, Mahanay ES, Guindacpan ES, Tanghaligue ES, Cantubod HS, Juagdan ES HE building and Fatima ES (two-storey building).
The National Development Support Command (Nadescom) under Maj. Gen. Carlos Holganza through the Cabulijan, Tubigon-based Engineer Support Battalion (ESBn) commanded by Lt. Col. Edwin Ureta will implement the school buildings project.
Aumentado also allocated P1.7 million for scholarships for valedictorians, salutatorians, honorable mentions and poor but deserving students studying in various universities and colleges in Bohol, Cebu, Negros Oriental, Leyte and Davao. Some 615 scholars have benefited from the program which is on top of Aumentado’s 60 regular Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) scholars.
The solon also set aside P3 million for Phase 2 of his district-wide electrification program. He had put up P5 million for Phase 1. The National Electrification Administration (NEA) that is mandated to energize rural areas and the Bohol Electric Cooperative (Boheco) will put up respective counterpart funding for the project.
He also had P8.93 million released as subsidy to LGUs: Clarin Health Center, P1 million; assistance to BnB Phase 1 for island- and far-flung barangays in Bien Unido, Buenavista, Inabanga, Getafe, President Garcia, Talibon, Trinidad, San Miguel, Dagohoy, Danao, Clarin, Sagbayan, San Isidro and Ubay at P25,000 each for 75 pilot barangays; assistance for poor/indigent patients in his district through the Garcia Memorial Provincial Hospital (GMPH) in Talibon, P200,000; assistance to displaced families affected by calamities and emergencies, P 2 million; sports development (basketball, lawn tennis and chess inter-town tournaments), P255,000 and the purchase of 20 units computers at P30,000 per unit amounting to P600,000.
Another P200,000 went to assistance for indigent/poor patients at the Don Emilio Del Valle Memorial Hospital in Ubay, P300,000 for the Philippine Heart Center and
P150,000 for Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital in Tagbilaran City.
His allocation for multi-purpose buildings amounted to
P2.65 million – for the President Garcia Cultural Center
P500,000; Mahayag, Malitbog and Babag in Dagohoy at
P290,000 each; Union and San Pascual in Ubay at P290,000 each; Ubay Federated ABC Hall, P70,000; Tubog and Guintaboan both in Ubay, P300,000 each, and Purok Diis in Kauswagan, Trinidad Salakot, P30,000.
