Former world champion Ricky Hatton has announced that he’s returning to boxing three years after he suffered a shameful 2nd round knockout in the hands of Manny Pacquiao.

Hatton said he decided to resurrect his career after he realized he’s capable of fighting again.

“Why am I coming back? It’s been well documented what’s happened to me since the last time I’ve been in a boxing ring,” Hatton said in Boxing Scene of his bout against depression following his loss to Pacquiao.

“I’ve started looking after myself a bit better and getting fitter and that’s how it started.”

The Manchester native set a ring return on November 24, although no opponent has been named.

Hatton said he wants to fight for a big-money world-title bout.

“I don’t want to be fighting at four or six-round levels – I want to fight for world titles,” he said.

“It’s about more than money, this comeback. People say nice things about me but they don’t know what’s been going on in between my ears.”
