Teasers of UAAP cheerdance squads going viral

Schools are gearing up for the much-awaited UAAP Cheerdance Competition, which will be held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Saturday.

Seven of the 8 participating schools have released teasers for the event, and some of the videos are already going viral.

The defending champions, 7-time winner UP Pep Squad, came up with a video that teaches how the UP crowd can cheer for the state university.

The 2009 champions, the FEU cheering squad, also released a teaser as they vie to reclaim the top spot in the competition.

Nine-time champion UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe highlighted their last year’s performance in their teaser video to the tune of Nelly Furtado’s single “Spirit Indestructible.”

The Ateneo Blue Babble Battalion, 2009′s runner-up, came up with a promo showing the team in action as they train for the competition.

A Disney-inspired teaser for the NU Pep Squad is making the rounds on the internet. The team, which is also known as the NU Cheer Squadron has yet to have a podium finish in the competition.

A teaser for the Adamson Pep Squad, meanwhile, shows footage of their practices and performances ending with an invitation: “See you tomorrow.”

Last year’s runner-up, the DLSU Animo Squad, also released a teaser video for this year’s competition using a dubstep mix of “Eye of the Tiger” as its soundtrack.

The UAAP Cheerdance Competition will be shown live tomorrow at 2 p.m. on Studio 23, Balls HD, and TFC Bro with live streaming on uaapsports.tv. — With ANC
